職位描述
Reporting to the Secondary principals, the Academic Counsellor is responsible for assisting students to make well-informed decisions regarding course ****ion, educational goal-setting, boarding school and university choice and applications, intended study major, and ultimate career paths.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Students
• Provide individual counselling to all secondary students on boarding school and university application processes, such as external exam requirements, subject ****ions, destination(s), choice of school, etc.
• Provide group counselling to relevant grades on the importance of subject ****ion, extra-curricular choices, summer programmes, internships, university fairs, etc.
• Regularly meet with parents either on an individual or group basis to discuss and offer advice on the overall boarding school or university application process
• Develop and administer educational and career programmes for students from grades 6-12
• Compilation and mailing of boarding school and university packets, including references, essays and tran****s, etc
• Write references for all boarding and university applications
• Make and deliver parent workshops and presentations during school information sessions
• Plan and organize pre-departure briefings for graduating and leaving students to prepare them for their university or boarding school experience
Building relationships with boarding schools and universities
• Develop and maintain relationships with boarding school and university representatives – visiting campuses (where possible) and planning a calendar of campus visits to the school
• Maintain affiliations with professional organizations such as CIS, OACAC
